It should trigger anytime there is a status change on any WAN interface within 30 seconds, not 5 minutes. You CAN trigger it manually in SSH using ddclient -force command, but it should run automatically whenever a WAN interface goes up or down. This is imperative for RED connections to stay connected during fluctuations in WAN connections.
