Website Security Certificate Error when Accessing Certain Websites over HTTPS

Applicable Version: 15.01.0 onwards Overview The following error is displayed when HTTPS scanning is enabled in Sophos Firewall (SF) and you try to access a website with an invalid certificate. To allow access to websites with invalid certificates, you can configure SF to allow invalid certificates. This configuration can be done from the Admin Console as well as the CLI, as shown below. Admin Console You must be logged in to the Admin Console as an administrator with Read-Write permissions for the relevant feature(s). Go to Protection > Web Protection > Web Content Filter , and in the HTTP/HTTPS Configurations section, enable Allow Invalid Certificate . Click Apply to save the configurations. Sophos CLI Log in to the CLI using Telnet or SSH. You can also access the CLI from admin > Console in the upper right corner of the Admin Console screen. Choose option 4. Device Console. Execute the following command: console> set service-param HTTPS invalid-certificate allow Document Version 1.0 – 09 October, 2015 123580
