I do apologise for the confusion in my earlier post. I jumped to a conclusion without fully reading your answer. The answer to your question is to open the Sophos Home Dashboard https://home.sophos.com/login and then scroll down the second last section (right above device events) select Websites and type in https://protonmail.com into the text field and you will have added the exception. Next on your computer, run a manual update of your Sophos Home installation (right click on the shield and Update Now). You will have successfully added an exception. However you shouldn't have to make any changes or uninstall Sophos Home. You were able to log into ProtonMail before installing Sophos Home, then here are a few other troubleshooting steps. Are any of the following true? Are you using the proper URL https://mail.protonmail.com or https://v2.protonmail.com ? Have you installed or subscribe to a service (eg. OpenDNS) or installed any other software that would prevent you from visiting any website or service? Like Yahoo, Gmail, ProtonMail, GhostMail, Tutanota? If yes then consult the manufacturers website/ documentation on how to allow websites through. Have you installed a standalone software firewall? If yes then make sure you can teach it to allow access to sites you want to visit. This will require changing some configurations within the firewall itself, refer to manufacture's website/ documentation for how to do that. Are you still using XP, and getting by using Firefox or Chrome? Both of which will soon, if not already, cease to support installations on XP. What else has changed since you installed Sophos Home? This issue is related to something other than Sophos Home, but I can see and appreciate the concern generated by suddently not having something work after installing software. If you find you have to uninstall Sophos Home, that is unfortunate, since it works out of the box, on both my Windows and Mac computers. I do hope you can resolve the issue. Let me know how it goes.
